Day 2: I wasted no time dipping into a 9.5 % this year haha thanks to a gift from Sawdust City Brewery in Gravenhurst, ON The Blood of Cthulhu is a massive Imperial Stout that weighs in at an impressive 9.5% abv. Brewed with apparently a ridiculous amount of malt and a blend of raspberries, cranberries, and tart cherries it tastes of rich chocolates and a slight tartness to it for some mouth puckering mistletoe fun!! It pours as black as the blood of this apparent creature and throws and smells of roasted malt, chocolate, and fruit. I am beginning to dig the darkness of beer and that's a fact!

If you are wondering where this mask and giant tentacle (not shown in photo) came from ... well I made Bernie wear it for Halloween to a mythical creature party. Funny thing is the box said Cthulhu on it and I had no idea what that was, possibly from Pirates of the Carribean? You know that feeling when you come across something new and suddenly it keeps appearing in your life? Well a couple days later these beers arrived in the mail and life came full circle... well not really but I now know what Cthulhu was.
"Cthulhu is a monstrous entity who lies "dead but dreaming" in the city of R'lyeh, a place of non-Euclidean madness presently (and mercifully) sunken below the depths of the Pacific Ocean. Cthulhu appears in various monstrous and demonic forms in early myths of the human race. Racial memory preserves Him as humanity's most basic nightmare. Cthulhu is the high priest of the Great Old Ones, unnatural alien beings who ruled the Earth before humanity formed, worshipped as gods by some misguided people. It is said that They will return, causing worldwide insanity and mindless violence before finally displacing humanity forever. "
