Travel in style to Michigan's Breweries

The craft beer craze has been sweeping Michigan for a few years now and it is clear the mitten was made for handcrafting some of the best brews in the land.

Every summer I listen to more stories from beer friends about the breweries & festivals they visited in different parts of Michigan and my list grows longer of where I need to visit. You see Michigan is fifth in the nation in the number of breweries, microbreweries and brewpubs.

Michigan is home to Grand Rapids in addition to more beer centric communities such as Kalamazoo, Ann Arbor, Traverse City, Detroit and Ypsilanti.

I am happy to share a guest post below, Michigan Brew Tour, from Grand Rapids Party Bus about a few of many Michigan breweries as well they offer a variety of services from limos to party busses (check out their Audi Q7 Stretch Limo it's slick!) to get you and your group around Michigan safely while enjoying the plentiful beer Michigan has to offer.

Hmmm sounds like it's time for another road trip....

Michigan Brew Tour

Those who enjoy beer in Michigan know that there are countless destinations to put on your itinerary for a brewery hop. Whether you find yourself on the west side of Michigan or in the Detroit and surrounding metropolitan areas, you're in for some of the highest quality beer in the country when you check out the top destinations for beer in the state. Michiganders know and love beer, and the following brewery destinations speak for themselves.

Brewery Vivant

925 Cherry St SE

Grand Rapids, MI

Located in a renovated church, this is a go-to for many locals and tourists visiting Grand Rapids. Knowledgeable servers can point you in the right direction of tastes you'll enjoy based on your preferences, and picking your own flight is really a fun process with all of the different choices here. There are unique food options to order such as Poutine, Duck Nachos, and Hungarian Smoked Sausage.

Thornapple Brewing

6262 28th St SE

Grand Rapids, MI 49546

If you're looking for something more than beer, there are cider, wine, and mead options here. As far as food goes, there are many vegan choices for food, notably a pizza option that's really "cheesy"! There's live music on Tuesdays for those who might be looking for an element of entertainment. Their table menu lists all of their choices with details on percentage of alcohol and tastes, so you can pick the one that's best for your palate.

Atwater Brewery

237 Joseph Campau St

Detroit, MI 48207

Atwater Brewery can almost be considered mainstream, as you can find their selections at almost any local grocery store. This pub and brewery shares the same excitement with those downtown, as there's usually a wait to get a table at this destination. There's an outdoor patio and bar seating that tends to fill up pretty quick! The Vanilla Java Porter is their most popular brew, but their Charcuterie on a Stick is an impressive take on the classic Bloody Mary and shouldn't be overlooked.

Eastern Market Brewing Company

2515 Riopelle St

Detroit, MI 48207

This is a brand new beer destination in the Eastern Market area of Detroit. There are three tiers of beer here that will cost you $5, $6, and $7 respectively. There's corn hole as well as board games. There aren't food options here, but it's not hard to find some awesome food trucks in the area, especially during the weekend. We love the rustic, warm atmosphere with reclaimed wood details and vintage light bulbs.

Remember that your mode of transportation becomes even more important when you plan on drinking. Professional transportation such as a party bus or limousine is a great way to get from one destination to the next with a group of friends without worrying about traffic or getting a designated driver for the night. Plus, it can be more affordable than ordering multiple taxi trips or Ubers along the way. If you're looking for an option in West Michigan, head over to grpartybus.com. Cheers!
