Did you know South St. Burger Bar on King st in Toronto serves Ontario Craft Beer?!
South St. Burger had me out for lunch today so I could not only try out their tasty signature burgers but also discover and drool over their craft beer lineup!!
With 38 locations across Canada, and one in Dubai, South St. Burgers's are fresh, flavourful and the bacon is a must. But what's so special about this King st location? They have CRAFT BEER!!!
They designed this location as more of a restaurant/bar vibe than takeout, though they still have a takeout section for those of you on the go. With burgers as unique as you their menu is stacked with tasty options and a choice between 4oz and 6oz patty's. You also have the option to build your own if you are craving something specific. Both the True North and Piri Piri are very popular choices and they offer ice cream and hand scooped shakes!
Now let's chat beer....
To compliment their bar vibe they have brilliantly taken the route of offering Craft Beer and being in such a craft beer hub in Toronto it is a wise choice. They have 8 taps pouring craft selections that rotate through different Ontario craft beer but always have a variety of styles to suit you and to pair well with your choice of burger. They also have cans available and for those of you looking to taste a few they offer flights (3 x 5oz) or you can choose their "Pick 3 Samples" off the menu which includes 3 x 10oz drafts and 3 sliders!
Some of the breweries available the day I visited were:
-Left Field Brewery
-Muskoka Brewery
-Cowbell Brewing
-Railway City
-Beau's
-Mill St.
-Cameron's Brewing
-Amsterdam Brewery
Pictured to the right is their Hawaiian! 🍔 🍍 A 4oz beef burger patty topped with ginger glazed pineapple, bacon, lettuce, wasabi mayo & hot pepper relish plus fries. Paired here with a Greenwood IPA by Left Field Brewery but the Summerweiss Tropical Wheat by Muskoka Brewery would have paired perfectly too!
I am the first to admit I'm fussy with my burgers but these were delicious!! Juicy, flavourful and the bacon was fantastic. It was an enjoyed lunch and I encourage you to grab a burger in their restaurant/bar and pair it with a pint, or two, of craft beer! Thanks for the invite South St. and I look forward to returning to your location to test out the rest!
