Next time you hear yourself say, “Why Do These Things Always Happen To Me?” Ask yourself, what did I wish for that is making this happen to me.

Last night I watched the movie Evan Almighty. It’s a story about a family that prays for things in their life including having a closer family and Evan wanting to make a difference in the world. The movie takes a turn when “God” shows up and tells Evan he needs to build an ark because there is a flood coming.

Evan laughs this off and continues living his life as a congressman. “God” then continues to distract him and give him signs of what’s to come and he still tries to run and hide from it.

It got to the point where Evan couldn’t do anything to avoid “God”.

He decided to build the ark despite people laughing at him. His wife who had prayed that the family would become closer thought he was crazy and decided to leave.

Evan continued building the ark because he truly started to believe that a flood was coming. He blocked out all negativity and focused on the job at hand.

Long story short, his family came back to support him, a dam broke and the town was flooded, and everyone in the neighborhood was safe on the ark.

What can we learn from this?

Be careful what you wish for!

-If you wish to get out of your comfort zone…the world will throw situations at you that you will not be comfortable in.

-If you want to be more patient you will be given situation that will force you to be more patient.

-If you want more money, you won’t be given more money. You will be given opportunities to make more money.

-If you want a new job, you won’t get a job. You will be given opportunities to get a new job.

Most people see these situations and run from them, not realizing that it was an opportunity to reach towards what they wished for.

Nothing in life will just be given to you. You must really want it, and be willing to do what it takes to achieve what you want and to ignore the people around you that are laughing at you.

Why do Tiffany and I have more fun then anyone, meet more interesting people, win more free stuff, and get into the funniest situations? Because we want to help people, we want to meet people and we want to learn from others.

The people around you are there to learn from, you never know when the next person sitting beside you has exactly what you’re looking for or maybe you have exactly what they are looking for.

For the next week I want you to look at every distraction and every hardship and really ask yourself…why is this REALLY happening.

Cheers,

Bernie & Tiffany The Travelling Dog
