The 3 Vital Ingredients for Social Media Marketing Success are:

1. Awareness

2. Personality

3. Relationship

Not much is differently really from what makes you willing to confirm a Facebook friend request.

1. You want to know who they are

2. You like them

3. and there's some form of relationship or potential relationship between you

Awareness:

Obviously people need to know that your brand exists, you need to get people to see what you have to offer. The more people that see your brand, and the more often they see it the more willing they will be to trust you and look into what you have to offer.

Personality:

Personally, I think this is one of the biggest downfalls of brands and businesses today, whether it's an offline or an online business. People want to know what they are getting into, they want to be part of something that has a purpose. I have worked with many companies that are not consistent with their business and their personality.

Before I meet with a client to discuss marketing strategies I always gather as much information on the business as I can. I go to their Facebook page, website, Twitter, search them on Google etc... so I have a good understanding of the business. I want to know what their image is, what people are saying about them, and what their competition is doing.

What boogles my mind is how often I meet up with the client and their personality is completely different from everything that I found online. The reason these things need to be consistent is because people want to know what they are getting. If your brand image is fun and exciting and you are lazy and boring, then guess what....

...people are not going to come back to you.

Which brings me to the last ingredient...Relationship

Relationship:

People forget that you are actually building a relationship with people long before you even meet them. You start to build this relationship through your brand and what you post. You don't get to know them but they are getting to know you...that's all that matters. People are more inclined to buy from you if they feel like they know you already and you have given them some value.

If you can be true to yourself, your brand and your image. You will start to attract the people you want in your business and you customers will become Raving Fans. Raving Fans are the cheapest and best form of advertising for your business.

Focus on building Raving Fans and remember the relationship process starts long before you even meet them.

Ask someone who doesn't know your business to look through your website, Facebook and marketing material and tell you if they think it's consistent with what you want for your business.

People can "copy cat" your business all day long but there is one thing they can never deliver the same as you...

...your PERSONALITY.

So embrace it and make it a part of your business.

To your success!

Bernie
