Dream On .... it's a decison.

Wow was yesterday awesome!!

I will start with the fact that Bernie's favorite Team, Germany, won the World Cup. I could go on to talk about how there is no "I" in team and watching sports like that really proves that point. Whether it be in sports, career, band or family a team always help the performance & success. Teams are there to teach, support, encourage and to celebrate each other.

Now into a bit of a story about dreams ....

10 years ago I had a friend tell me an emotionally filled story of a concert she had seen once. She was right next to the stage as it came out like a catwalk into the crowd. As the encore came on after an already incredible show the band procceded to break into one of her favorite songs....

as he took a swig from a bottle of whiskey and procceeded to break into the chorus, on one knee, right in front of where she was standing. He hit the high screeching notes he was known for, she cried and to this day still gets a tear and some goosebumps from sharing that story.

From that day I too wanted to experience that band, that song and those very goosebumps. I have often re told her story and re tell myself only dreaming and hoping I would one day experience it.

So in rolls yesterday, Sunday July 13th 2014.

Started as a busy day with a few dog classes then a simple text message from a friend...

"I have 2 day passes for Kitchener music fest today ....

Aerosmith goes on at 9pm. Anyone interested?"

WHHAAATT??!!!!

1) I had no idea they were playing ...

2) It was an outdoor show on a beautiful day ...

3) Could I make this happen???

The story of my friend flooded back into my head and I decided I had to go there was no way I was going to miss this show and the chance to hear "The Song"!

See funny thing about this is all it took was a simple decision;

-There were only 2 tickets and 3 of us, but we would figure that out.

-We had to catch the World Cup Final first and get there in time to get the tickets, but we would figure that out.

I made a decision to take another step towards a dream I had and that alone exploded into a train of good things and a hell of a good night. Sometimes people are afraid to take a risk, to take a step towards a dream in case they fall, fail or don't succeed.

I learned at a young age that if you don't at least try you will never be close to succeeding.

Now some of you may be laughing a little and thinking umm this isn't life or death or a big career move it's just music....

Right there you have defeated yourself, a decision is a decision and you can choose to do it or not. I care about a lot of things and happiness is one of those things. I choose to be happy therefore I choose to decide to do things that bring me happiness.

This is ME being Happy!! haha

Now where was I in this story ....

So we ended up getting 3 tickets, we ended up getting into VIP actually & we ended up seeing an Amazing show put on by Aerosmith and the one and only Steven Tyler....

Man is he cool.

Well are you waiting to hear if I heard the song?!! ...

On to the encore...

As Steven steps back out onto stage and sits down at a white piano ... he comments on the Full Moon rising over the crowd and then announces he is going to sing .... Dream On.

My heart skips a beat, I start to jump into the air and before he starts the first note I have "the goosebumps"...

He starts off slowly on the piano his old fingers still gliding across the keys like they were young and he gets into a groove ... they crowd is swaying and my brain is about to explode as I cannot believe this is happening!!

I close my eyes only for a moment, as I don't want to miss anything, and take a deep breath. I am so happy I decided to come, that Bernie & Nathan joined, that we found our great friends Penny & Carla and that I got that text from Kelly that morning that introduced me to a cool lady with tickets.

As I get lost in the song he continues and now is not playing the piano anymore but standing on top of it about to belt out the infamous chorus....

...the Chorus that started this story and this dream that is about to come true.

DREAM ON.. DREAM ON.. DREAM ON.. DREAM UNTIL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE!!

BOOM! It was as awesome as I dreamed all the past 10 years ...

As he finishes and gives a genuine thanks to the crowd and his band ... let's not forget Joe Perry. He pulls a girl on stage to autograph her leg and dissapears...

I continue to jump up and down repeat the word YES like 12 times and we head out.

Not over yet...

As we hit the corner of the road to cross the cops hold us up for a moment .. we hear a few sirens and see some motorbikes coming through... I hear a lady yell "It's him!!" Obviously I push past a few people and the baby stroller to the front of the crowd... I look to my left and see 2 limos approaching behind the 4 motorbikes and hanging out of the back window is Steven Tyler!!! I start to wave and yell and he hoots and hollers on his way by....

Now that my firends is THE END.

Now go & Dream On .. Dream until YOUR Dreams come True...
